Booksonline is Updating Thier Platform.

Whether you are a member of any book clubs or not, you can appriciate what Booksonline is doing.  The book clubs are becomming so popular that they have decided that it’s time to update the sites. Booksonline is launching a new web platform with an improved user interface, new look and feel, and an entirely new application layer using the latest technologies. Overall, the new platform delivers an improved user experience.

The migration to the new platform will occur in three phases. On Saturday, February 7, 2009, Bookspan will launch Crafter’s Choice, History Book Club, and HomeStyle on the new platform. During Phase 1, the HomeStyle offer changed to 4 books for $2 plus a free gift with membership.

No More Automatic Shipments!

January 7th, 2009

***The following is for NEW MEMBERSHIPS ONLY!  Any memberships created before this change will continue to operate the same***

It’s exciting news in the world of book clubs.  Most of popular book clubs are run by Booksonline.  They have decided to resolve a lot of the hassles that go along with belonging to a book club.  Up until now, you were sent featured selections every month.  if you didn’t want them; you had to send a card in before it shipped, or return it once you received it.  Hey, it is a book CLUB, but people tend to either not know that this is what comes along with joining, or just forget time to time.  It can be a real hassle.  Booksonline has changed their policies and now there is a much easier way to enjoy the book clubs.  Here are the changes outlined below, as well as what will stay the same.

  • Books will only be sent at the request of the member (no automatic shipments)
  • The member will continue to receive a FREE Club catalog about every 3 weeks plus other special promotions
  • The catalog will be sent by email or postal mail depending on the member’s preference
  • The catalog will continue to review the Editor’s Featured Selection plus other great titles
  • If the member does not want to receive the Featured Selection, the member no longer has to respond
  • If the member wants the Featured Selection or another title, they can order on the web, on the reply form, or by phone
  • The member can buy books from the catalog or web site anytime they want
As you can see, these are welcomed changes and I think that this will really make members more satisfied.
