He has also been featured as a speaker o several news channels. His books are regularly featured on the New York Times Best Seller List.

Lucado originally wanted to become an attorney, but when attending Abilene Christian University a bible course and mission altered the course of his life and he became a missionary. He began his writing career by writing columns for his local church.

Since 1983, he has written over 50 books, with 28 million of them still in print. His first book was entitled "On The Anvil" and was published in 1983. Since that time period, he has averaged a book each year. His books are all based upon the faith of Christianity.

One of his latest books, 3:16: The Numbers Of Hope became a film in 2007 named "3:16 - Stories Of Hope." A children's book, "Hermie, A Common Caterpillar" was made into a series of Christian videos for children and was named as one of the top Christian cartoons.

His latest book written in 2009 is entitled "Fearless" and is available at local bookstores as well as in Christian bookstores. Those who listen to Christian radio as well as follow Christian writers are well familiar with the name of Max Lucado and his work.

In addition to books and videos, a CD was released in 2007 entitled "3:16 - Songs Of Hope." His books and videos have received critical acclaim from various sources.

Those who are interested in learning more about Max Lucado can visit his official website and even listen to some of his more famous quotes. They can also visit the official website of the Oak Hills Church, although recent health problems have made him step down as pastor of the church.

Those who have not yet read anything by Max Lucado and would like to do so may want to start with one of his Gold Medallion Book Award winners, "When God Whispers Your Name." Lucado combines his Christian faith with real life events in a way that does not seem very preachy, but gets his message across to readers in an entertaining way.

He has appeared on NBC Nightly News, Fox News Channel, Larry King Live and also on USA Today. He was also the featured speaker at the National Prayer Breakfast. Although health concerns have prevented him from maintaining his position as pastor of the church, he is continuing to write novels based upon the faith of Christianity that are both inspiring as well as entertaining to the reader.
